Intro Plus & Basecamp Alpha

The Intro Plus + Base Camp Alpha Package is designed for riders who want a smooth, confidence-building progression from foundational training to a real backcountry adventure. Your weekend begins with Intro Plus, Rawhyde’s enhanced beginner program that builds on the fundamentals taught in Intro to Adventure. This course offers additional seat time, more personalized coaching, and expanded drills that help you refine essential off-road techniques such as balance, clutch and throttle control, traction management, braking on loose surfaces, low-speed maneuvering, hill starts and descents, and proper body positioning. It’s the ideal next step for riders who want extra practice before stepping into more demanding terrain.

After graduation on Sunday, you’ll stay at the ranch for an extra night, giving you time to relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the adventure ahead. On Monday morning, you’ll depart for the Base Camp Alpha Tour, a fully supported overnight backcountry experience designed to put your new skills into practice in a real-world setting. This tour is intentionally crafted to be approachable for developing riders while still delivering the excitement and accomplishment that define adventure motorcycling.

You’ll ride with a professional guide, a sweep rider, and a support truck and trailer carrying gear, tools, supplies, and comforts for camp. A camp chef prepares excellent meals, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere throughout the journey. The route includes scenic backcountry terrain with gentle fire roads, moderate climbs and descents, and a variety of surfaces that help your new skills become instinctive.

On Monday night, you’ll stay at ZAKAR, Rawhyde’s unique “Zombie Apocalypse”–themed adventure center in the Mojave Desert. ZAKAR serves as your fully supported backcountry camp, offering great food, camaraderie, and an immersive taste of the adventure riding lifestyle.

On Tuesday, you’ll continue your guided ride through beautiful desert terrain before returning to the ranch by approximately 5 p.m., completing a memorable two-day progression from structured training to real-world adventure.
