Skill Clinic #3 – Skid Turning and Drifting – Controlled Loss of Traction

This clinic is about learning how to intentionally break rear-wheel traction and use it as a tool rather than something to fear. Riders will practice skid turns and controlled drifting by locking the rear wheel to change direction and tighten turning radius.

The focus is on understanding balance, timing, brake input, and body position while managing a sliding motorcycle. Through repetition and progression, riders become comfortable with skidding, learn how to initiate and stop a slide, and gain confidence controlling the bike when traction is reduced. This skill is critical for tight terrain, switchbacks, and advanced off-road riding.
